Additional DiGiCam Features & Setup, Requirements |
 |
 |
1. Disk
Space usage: Curious as to how much disk space
(hard drive space) the program uses during recording? Here's an
example. If you recorded a B/W camera at 5 frames per second
with only 10 Gigs of available hard drive space, you could
record for 2500 hours! Folks, that's more than 3 months of
recording.
It digitally compresses the data
for storage and then during playback, it decompresses that
particular data for viewing. |
| 2. More
Features: One beautiful feature the program offers is
that you can choose how many frames per second you want to
record, as well as the image quality! Choosing exactly how many
FPS you wish to record is something a Time Lapse VCR cannot do!
Nor can a VCR record 'Digitally'. Your images will be crisp and
clear and unlike VHS tapes, your data will not degrade over
repeated playback. With its added features of 'Slow Motion,
Fast-Track, Time/Date Stamp', viewing is precise and timely. |
 |
 |
Another feature which is
sure to be useful is your Motion Detector
mode. Besides it's regular setup, it also includes a 'Pixel
Sensitivity' mode. You can either increase or decrease the
pixel change sensitivity varying from small or extreme pixel
changes before triggering recording. Now if that's not
enough, there is a
Mask mode you can use - simply take your
mouse and draw around as many sections as you like of each
camera image in the areas you want the Motion to ignore (not
record from). The DiGiCam 'Motion Detector' mode will then
ignore those portions you drew around and trigger recording
from rest of the screen(s) activity. Is that slick or what? |
|
| Other features that will come in
handy are a 12x Digital Zoom function, Password/Lock-out protection,
customize individual cameras i.e. if there shouldn't be any
activity in a particular cameras view, have that camera call you
when triggered while others simply record, send video to a
remote PC for video storage (just in case original PC is
destroyed), an optional Alarm feature that sounds via your
computer speakers when a camera is triggered, Multiplexing
abilities - simultaneous Recording and Playback of any camera,
an optional 'Digital Watermark' applied during recording to be
used in court proceedings, screen size settings of 640x480 per
camera (rather than the usual 320x240) and a host of other
features! |

 |
| We know you'll love the DiGiCam,
it's price and the features it offers (compared to all other
current packages on the market today) just as much as we do! |
3. Installation:
Turn off your computer and then unplug it. Then remove your PC's
casing cover and then pop in our DiGiCam PCI board/card into an
available PCI slot. Now place the PC's casing cover on your
computer, plug your camera(s) into the back of the PCI card and then
power up your computer. Once powered up, Windows will detect your
new PCI card. Load the included CD into your CD slot and then direct
Windows to your CD for the new drivers it requires. After this,
install the DiGiCam software (also included on the CD). Now you're
ready for action! Note: For the Single DiGiCams,
instead of using a PCI slot, you use your computers USB port (plug
our USB connector cable into your USB port which is located outside
of the PC).
Further detailed
information on the software will be included with your CD. If you do
not know what a PCI slot or a USB port is (USB port only for Single
DiGiCam) or where they are on your PC, please refer to your PC's
instruction manual.
